I went to Walmart today to buy another Everstart Maxx C29 battery, it was priced at $75, I paid for it, then thought to ask about warranty. Not really sure why, it just came into my head, kind of figured it was 24mo. The cashier said they no longer offered a warranty on these, it was sold as is. I called Gander Mountain, which is about 2miles from my house, and asked about their Interstate Batteries. I was given a bit of mis-information, as I thought I asked if they had a C29 and for it's price and was told it was $89 and had a 24mo warranty.

RE: EverStart batteries
i just bought the Everstart Maxx "Marine" (the yellow ones) @ Wal Mart. Went with the Group 29, something like 820 MCA's 720 CCA"s but the deciding factor in going with the 29's was the reserve of 205 minutes. The only way I found the reserve was looking in the catalogue that the WalMart tech had behind the counter. Think it was on page 8 or 9. Serached high and low everywhere else......
I have a single 98 OX 66 225 yamaha on the end of a 98 228 Grady.
I've seen quite a few threads about battery replacement, but most guys go with the H7 or H6 sizes. While these are certainly better batteries than the original Moll, I decided to try to save some weight without buying a Lithium battery. Today I installed a EverStart MAXX H5 (Walmart), and it fits perfectly in the original battery tray. It is also rated higher than the original battery by a large margin in both CCA and CA. Based on my bathroom scale, the original is 45 lbs. and the H5 is 30 lbs, so it is also an easy 15lbs savings. Lastly, the car now starts like it should. My old battery wasn't dead, but I noticed the car sounded lazy when starting. Probably not surprising considering it was the original battery and my car is 7.5 years old. Now it fires right up and the starter sounds like a sports car should.
